Vivian Aasen Freeride, snowboard. Ranked 4th in the Freeride World Tour (FWT) 2010 and 1st in the Norwegian Freeride Cup (NC) of 2009. (Injured in 2011 season broken miniskus and torn ACL, mars 2011, stopped competing in the Freeride World Tour due to the injury)
I am born and raised in Ålesund on the west coast of Norway. My parents put skis on my feet as soon as I could walk. When I was 12 years old, back in 1995, my sister got her first snowboard. There were only one thing for me to do: Convince my parents to get me one as well, even though I never tried snowboarding before. I always had a love for the mountains and it did not take me long to realise that this was something I would keep on doing.

16 years old I moved out from my parents to Stranda to attend a snowboarding college for three years. At this time I started competing in freestyle competitions such as halfpipe, big jump, boardercross, slopestyle ect. and got good results.
In 2009 I joined the Norwegian Freeride Cup for the first time and ended up with third, second and first place in the three competitions I competed in. The good results gave me a wildcard to the two first stops of the Freeride World Tour 2010. I had to join the FWT while I had the chance. I realised that this wasn't gonne come cheep and started working on sponsor deals. Since I decided to join the Tour I have put a lot of time, money and effort into make it happen.
