Me, Joel and Christina traveled to Stavanger to compete in a surf comp. There were 16 girls in the event and I ended up beeing one of the six girls that went through to the finals!!!? Got no good waves in the final unfortunatley and ended up on 6th place. Anyways I am happy, not that bad for my first surf comp. I had so much fun. I love it! "The finalist" thanks Joel and Christina for a great weekend ;) Thums up for surreptitiously drinking on the airport bus to Stavanger! Wooop!

Friday: Looking for waves, all we find is a sandstorm.
 Weekend summary:
Friday: Windy as hell. Saturday (Comp. day): Morning windy and rainy. Comp start: Blubird and NO wind!! STOKE! Sunday: Windy as hell. Must be good karma.

New season, new knee, new opportunities, surfs up!

I just read that is going to snow a lot at my local Skiresort : Stranda this week, unfortunatly my doctor says I can`t ride until January. The words on the streets says that Stranda Skiresort will open its lifts this Saturday, insanely early if you ask me. Very nice for all the people who can ride, me im going to Stavanger to compete in a surf competition, Volcom Codfish. Surfing is so much healthier for the knees. Looking forward to it, but still.... Stranda skiresort will open this weekend!??=)(/!!!.... I don`t believe it before I see it. Good luck powder hoes! Me, im going surfing....

I been traveling a lot up through the years and seen some pritty awesome places. But sometimes you don't have to travel to far to get that feeling. Sometimes all the awesomeness is just outside your door. I really do appreciate all I have and all the great nature thats surrounding me...

Nendaz Freeride 2011

The Venue for the finals in Nendaz

Me, Kristina and Alex had to travel by train and bus from Chamonix to get to Nendaz on thursday. The qualification went on friday in mogol fields of faces. Saturday was the finals, over you can see the Venue. I went on the lookers left in this face. I had 5 drops. I managed to fall after a double drop and did a propar frontflip tumble, and in my last part of the face I got caugth by sluff. A lot of sluff. All in all i ended up at 6th. I been skipping 2 contest before this one, because of a indjured knee, and after this comp it just got worse. I been going to the pysio, but she can not be 100% sure whats wrong with my knee. I will try to get an MR scan when I get back to Norway, before competing any more in the Norwegian Freeride cup. Home I can get one quick, and if competing dosen't do to much damage besides making my knee sore I'll finish the rest of comp sesason i Norway.

Cripple on Mystic Experience Italy 2011

Like I wrote in my last article I when to Italy, Monterosa with a newly bougth knee and good intentions. I ended up not competing do to my bad knee situation. I became a cripplin on tour with team Margaritha and cheering for my friends. The qualification and the finale face were the same as last year, when I ended up with a 2nd place. The snow condition in bougth the venues looked pritty good, with 20-30cm of fresh. When I watched the other girls ride, I really, really wanted to be able to ride myself, but yo cant always get what you want. I been seeing this physio a couple of times since I got back to Chamonix, and she is super positive to get my knee in shape for Nendaz Freeride witch is 11-18 of mars. My goal for the next couple of weeks is to do a lot of swimming, biking and knee exsersises to get me back on my board in good time for Nendaz Freeride in three weeks.

Broken
The other day I went riding i the park in Grands Montets. I was going to film followcam of the followcam and we when 3 people on the same line at once. On the second big jump i landet flat, and my knee ate shit. Still sore. But I bougth myself a "new knee" (a knee brace) at the pharmacy, and some sportstape. Friday there is a comp in Italy and I am leaveing for Italy now. Hopefully I can ride the comp. Stay tuned!
Off to Italy, Monterosa!

FWT Stop 2 - Chamonix Mt. Blanc
I am not satisfied about my run at all, and I was sure I would come last of all the girls but I ended up 5th outta 7 girls. Not to happy about that eigther, but at least I didn't come last and scored some points.
The red line shows my planned line, and the green one is the one I ended up with. I spotted a nice windlip from the start which I wanted to spray. I though I would be able to get back to my originale line after doing that turn, but there turned out to be a big windlip in the way (which i marked with a yellow circle), than I had to go down the rocky coluar instead.

On top of the FWT face in Courmayur Italy.
Janina Kuzma from New Zealand and me in the heli, we're stooooked oh yes!

Our heli lift for the day
Stop 2 off the freeride worldtour will be held in Courmayur due to bad snow conditions in Chamonix. There will only be one contest day and all the riders will get heli-lifts to the top. Pritty stocked about the heli lift not so stooked about the snow-conditions in the face. I think i'll stick to a safe line and try to get som features at the bottom of the face.

FWT stop 1 -  La Clusaz Radikal Mountain

The first day in La Clusaz ready to hit the slopes!
North Face des Aravis
Finale face, trying to spot my line with a pritty awesome binocular.
